I don't why but since last night I am experiencing swelling under my left eye. Is that due to some kind of food allergy or any other sort of allergy. For the first time last night I had Escargot Rosa Maria, its an Italian dish which is prepared with imported snails sauteed in olive oil, white wine, onions, mushroom, roasted peppers, garlic, cream and tomatoes.

Dust mite allergy can cause swelling under one eye. Dust mites are found in the carpets, upholstered furniture, bedding etc. Dust mites may include dander from cats and dogs, mold, bacteria, food particles, etc.

Certain cosmetics can cause allergies in one eye if you are sensitive to them. Eye allergies can also be caused due to pollen, dust mites, or pet dander. Try over-the-counter eye allergy drops; if it resolves, your might be suffering from allergies. Otherwise, it might be due to infection

Allergic to certain foods might also lead to swelling under one eye. Besides that dust mite allergy as mentioned above are also main factors leading to swelling under one eye. It is better to consult your physician as soon as possible.

I also experienced swelling under my left eye. After reading the one about cosmetics...I'm shocked because I was playing around with some nail polish. I'm not usually allergic to nail polish, but this was the first time I've tried that one. Could I be just allergic to that type? I've had swelling many times before and it progressively gets worse. I don't know what they were from but I'm pretty sure they weren't from nail polish. Maybe it's just one ingredient ....?
