    Hello Sara,

Even I have faced the same problem after quitting the habit of smoking after 25 years. Drinking water whenever I felt the craving worked for me. I even altered my dietary habit and started eating more of fresh fruits and vegetables. Besides that I completely avoided drinks like alcohol, coffee and tea.

Best wishes and hope you too will soon overcome this habit.

Nicotine cravings can be tough to resist, but they last only for 3 to 5 minutes. The best way is to realize when you are having those cravings and coming up with a plan beforehand to distract yourself from the temptation. You can try the following to distract yourself :

    Drinking fresh orange juice
    Chewing sugar-free gum
    Calling your friend
Doing something you like or a hobby, like playing an instrument or gardening etc.

    All the best!

Besides the above mentioned advices by the members you can even take help from counselor or rehabilitation centers.

    Hi Sara,

You may take help from your local support group. You can find like-minded people who may have same problem. There you can learn from each other and help each other out.

The other way is to take support from your family and friends. Love and support of family members and friends can go a long way in curing craving for anything unhealthy, including nicotine.

    All the best!
