What are the three main reasons people do fasting?
Well, one of the main reasons people do fasting is to lose weight. It is believed that during fasting, we take in less calories than we can burn, thereby leading to weight loss. So when we abstain from taking in solid foods for a certain number of days and live solely on juice or water, our goal is to lose weight.
3 main reasons for fasting includes 1) fasting in the form of non-violent protest, 2) fasting done under medical supervision. Medical fasting is done mainly to cleanse the body, digestive system prior to medical procedure. 3) Religious fasting is practiced as penance or as sacrifice to God.
The other reason can be religion.
Fasting is a way to show faithfulness and obedience to God in many religions. When we do fasting, we abstain ourselves from enjoying worldly pleasures such as delicious food, having sex, etc. Fasting is believed to be an effective way to strike a deeper bonding with the God; it is believed that God answer prayers of his people when they do fasting and pray to Him.
Majority of people, now a days, do fasting so as to live a healthy life. It is believed that when we do fasting,say,with fresh fruits and vegetable juices, this helps in cleansing and removing toxins from our body. This, in turn, can help in promoting circulation and strengthening our immune system.
